Product approval & certification

BBA certification is recognised throughout the construction industry as a symbol of quality and reassurance. It's the vital ingredient in the provision of assurance, quality and integrity to a plethora of stakeholders in the construction industry.

The BBA sets the standard for excellence in construction products and systems. We offer technical expertise, are independent with an unrivalled track record and offer more than certification through our audit and inspection and test services.

Since our launch in 1966 we have developed rigorous certification, inspection and testing services aimed at supporting manufacturers and installers in achieving excellence – and to provide reassurance throughout the industry.

Over five decades of unrivalled expertise in building and construction certification means the BBA is the best stamp of approval you can get. BBA Certification is a UK mark of excellence, ensuring products are safe, high quality, reliable and regulatory compliant.

As such, the BBA logo is the ultimate seal of consumer confidence, and is sought after as a standard procedure by specifiers and architects operating within the industry. From a broader perspective, continued association with the BBA strengthens a product brand, building a manufacturer's reputation in the market place.

Our services are carried out by teams with detailed technical knowledge and experience, and our certification,  inspection and test services are recognised by building control, local authorities, industry insurers and the key construction trade associations in the UK as world class.

As an independent non-profit distributing organisation, our ambition is to provide reassurance to the construction industry that manufacturers’ products, systems and procedures are ‘fit for purpose’. Committed to excellence, the BBA works closely with various committees and trade organisations designed to make our industry better.

By collaborating closely with organisations like the European Organisation for Technical Assessments (EOTA) and the Westminster Sustainable Business Forum (WSBF), we have created a platform to provide key input into Government policy development, and we work to help reduce technical barriers to cross-border construction trading throughout Europe.

Our overall mission is simple: to encourage the safe development and adoption of innovative solutions in the built environment through the provision of reassurance to manufacturers, retailers, users, specifiers, insurers, installers and regulators of products and systems.
